Soft and Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies

This oatmeal chocolate chip cookies recipe will help you make soft nad chewy oatmeal cookies in five simple steps.

Ingredients
  

  • 130 g Plain flour 1 cup
  • 150 g Oats or 1 and 1/2 cups (old fashioned rolled oats or quick cooking oats)
  • 150 g Chocolate chips 1 cup
  • 100 g Brown sugar or 1/2 cup
  • 50 g White granulated sugar or 1/4 cup
  • 115 g Butter (softened unsalted) or 1/2 cup
  • 1 Egg (@ room temperature)
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extact

Instructions
 

1.Combine the dry ingredients in another bowl

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in another bowl.Add the flour, salt,baking soda, oats and chocolate chips to form a uniform mixture.

2.Combine all the wet ingredients

  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3.Mix together the dry and wet ingredients

  • Take care not to over mix the dough as it can cause tough cookies
  • Add the vanilla extract and an egg and whisk until they turn light and creamy.

4.Shape the cookies

  • Once the dough is ready,take small portions (1 and 1/2 tablespoon scoop dough or 38-40 g) using a spoon or an ice-cream scoop and place it onto the baking tray lined with a parchment paper or onto a non stick baking tray.
    Press the cookie dough, gently with your hand to flatten each ball of cookie dough slightly (make sure not to flatten them completely, just slightly). 
    Leave a little room between each ball of cookie dough as they will spread a little while they bake.

5.Bake the cookies

  • Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown on edges.
