For Apple Crumble Topping
135gFlour 1 cup
100gGranulated sugar1/2 cup
113gSoftened Butter1/2 cup
3gSalt1/2 tsp
5mlVanilla extract1 tsp
Instructions
Prepare the Apple filling
In to a bowl, add in the peeled and diced apples, lemon juice,sugar,salt,cinnamon powder and corn flour.Mix and combine them all together to form a homogenous mixture.Keep it aside.
Prepare the Apple Crumble Topping
Into a bowl, add in the dry ingredients ,flour, salt and sugar.Give it a good mix.Add in the softened butter and vanilla extract for flavor.Using hands or with a fork or with a pastry cutter ,work the butter into the dry ingredients until it form large crumbs.We do’t want a smooth mixture, we want it to have a wet sand texture.The crumbles need to have lot of air and free space between them.
Assemble the Apple Crumble Tray
Pour in the apple filling on to the baking tray (including the liquid or any juice formed).Scatter the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture.Our Apple crumble Tray is ready to go into the oven!
Bake the apple crumble
Bake at 375 For 190 C for 40-45 minutes.Bake until the apple juices are bubbling around the edges of the baking dish and the topping is medium golden in color and firm to the touch.After baking ,let the baking dish sit for five minutes so that it will get some time to cool down a bit and set.You can serve it with some vanilla ice cream or with some custard cream.
