  • 3 g Yeast (instant/active dried yeast) or 1 tsp
  • 6 g Salt or 1 tsp
  • 30 g Sugar 2 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

PREPARE THE CLOVERLEAF ROLL DOUGH

  • Into a bowl, lets add all our ingredients together and mix them to form a shaggy mass of dough.
Add the milk, sugar, salt, yeast, butter and flour and mix them together.
Make sure the milk is lukewarm. We can use equal volume of lukewarm water also instead of milk.
Transfer the dough onto a clean work surface .Knead the dough until the dough become soft and elastic.
Only a well kneaded dough can produce soft and fluffy cloverleaf dinner rolls.

DIVIDE AND SHAPE THE DOUGH

  • Once our cloverleaf yeast roll dough is ready, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
  • Then take each part and divide it into three equal pieces.
We can either eyeball it or can use a use a kitchen scale to be more accurate.
Each of them will be around 16-17 g each.
  • Roll each piece of dough into small balls.Tuck in the edges towards the centre and roll each of them into small round balls.
  • Grease the muffin pan with some butter so that they will come out smoothly after baking.
Place three small balls into each muffin cup and cover it with a cling film.

PROOF THE SHAPED CLOVERLEAF ROLLS

  • Let the shaped cloverleaf rolls sit in a warm environment for about 60 minutes or until they puff up and get doubled in size.
After one hour of proofing, they are ready to to go into the oven.

BAKE THE CLOVERLEAF DINNER ROLLS

  • Bake the cloverleaf yeast rolls in a 180 C or 350 F preheated oven for around 20 minutes.
If the cloverleaf dinner rolls are under-baked, the inside will be doughy and they smell yeasty. So bake sufficiently for 20 minutes.
  • Brush the top of rolls with some butter.
  • Transfer them to a cooling rack so that the bottom will not get soggy.
  • Enjoy cloverleaf rolls while they are warm and oven fresh!
