Scoop the Cookie Dough.
To shape the Maple oatmeal raisin cookies, portion out the dough using a spoon or ice-cream scoop, aiming for about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie.
Place the dough onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a non-stick baking tray.
Using a spatula, gently press down on each heap of cookie dough to lightly flatten it. Be careful not to flatten them too much; a gentle press is all that’s needed.
Remember to leave some space between each ball of dough on the baking tray, as the cookies will spread slightly as they bake.
Bake the Maple Oatmeal Cookie
Bake at 350 For 175 C preheated oven for around 22 minutes. The baking duration depend on the size of the cookies. So if the cookies are bigger in size, bake for slightly longer (2-3 minutes) or for smaller cookies bake 2-3 minutes less. Note that the cookies will seem underdone(especially the center will be very soft) when they are just out of the oven. That’s okay, they will firm up as they cool.
Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 3-4 minutes, then transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Enjoy this soft and chewy Maple oatmeal cookies with some hot coffee or tea or with some cold milk.
- For a chewier texture, slightly underbake the cookies and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring.
- Feel free to add mix-ins such as chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips to customize the cookies to your liking.
- Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.
