HOW TO MAKE MAPLE OATMEAL COOKIES
1.Mix all the dry ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients Oats, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla sugar and cinnamon powder. If you are using vanilla extract, add it with wet ingredients.
Adding a touch of cinnamon enhances the cozy oat flavor.
Mix everything together.
Then add raisins into the mixture.
Mix and make sure it is a homogenous mixture and set it aside.
For those who enjoy a generous amount of raisins in each cookie, I recommend using 1 cup of raisins.
If raisins aren’t your favorite, you can easily swap them out for chocolate chips or chopped nuts or you can use your favorite ingredients mixed( up to 1 cup) to create a simple yet delicious maple oatmeal cookie variation.
2. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients.
Add soft, unsalted butter into a bowl.
Beat it with a whisk or using a hand mixer until it is pale yellow.
Add the maple syrup and continue to whisk.
Then add 1 egg into this and mix until fully combined.
If the ingredients are not at room temperature, there are high chance that the mix will get curdled, which is normal.
3.Mix together the wet and dry ingredients.
Add the mix of dry ingredients into the second bowl. Combine them together.
Now our Maple oatmeal raisin cookie dough is ready.
4. Scoop the Cookie Dough.
To shape the Maple oatmeal raisin cookies, portion out the dough using a spoon or ice-cream scoop, aiming for about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie.
Place the dough onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a non-stick baking tray.
Using a spatula, gently press down on each heap of cookie dough to lightly flatten it. Be careful not to flatten them too much; a gentle press is all that’s needed.
Remember to leave some space between each ball of dough on the baking tray, as the cookies will spread slightly as they bake.
5. Bake the Maple Oatmeal Cookie
Bake at 350 For 175 C preheated oven for around 22 minutes.
The baking duration depend on the size of the cookies. So if the cookies are bigger in size, bake for slightly longer (2-3 minutes) or for smaller cookies bake 2-3 minutes less.
Note that the cookies will seem underdone when they are just out of the oven. That’s okay, they will firm up as they cool.
Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 3-4 minutes, then transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling.
They will be quite soft until completely cooled.
You can top this maple cookies with maple icing which is super easy to make.
