How to make garlic bread from scratch
We can make this easy garlic bread in four simple steps
1.Prepare the bread dough
Into a bowl, add all our ingredients together and mix them to form a shaggy mass of dough.
Add the milk, sugar, yeast, salt ,butter and flour and mix them together.
Transfer the dough onto a clean work surface and knead the dough until the dough become soft and elastic.
Only a well kneaded dough can produce soft and fluffy garlic bread .
It will be so much easier if you are using a stand mixer to prepare the dough.
In a stand mixer, just knead the dough for around 8 minutes using the dough hook attachment.
Once we get a soft and elastic dough, let the dough sit and rest for 10 minutes.
This will give some time for the dough to rest and this will make it easy for us to roll and shape the dough.
2.Shape into a rectangle and fill with toppings
After 10 minutes, just roll and shape the dough into a rectangular sheet.
Place it on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Make square pattern on top of the dough using a sharp knife.Leave 1/8 inch space towards the edge.
Take care not to make many small squares..It may look pretty. But we need to add cheese slice in every crease and may end up adding double the amount of cheese and our bread may not turn out as a healthy bread.
Spread the top with garlic butter.
Insert pieces of mozzarella cheese to fill the creases.
Cover the baking tray with a plastic film.
3.Proof the shaped dough
Let the dough sit and rise for 30 minutes or until the dough really puff up.
4.Bake the garlic bread
Bake at 180 C or 350 F for 32-35 minutes.
The baking time may vary according to the size of the baking tray. The deeper tray will take longer and shallow pan take shorter time.
If the top turn golden brown early, cover the top with aluminum foil and bake properly for 32-35 minutes

I don't make bread, but I made these rolls and it was pretty easy. I would suggest to warm the cheese to room temp, because if cold, it keeps the dough from rising faster. I'm bringing them to family dinner. They smell wonderful!
